| 5th June, 2003 - Export Inspection Council’s Certification to KMG Milk Food Ltd. |

| Kurukshetra, Export Promotion Council, a body under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, has awarded its “Certificate of Approval” to KMG Milk Food Limited’s Dairy Plant, situated in Village Masana, Distt Kurukshetra of Haryana State for the processing of Skimmed Milk Powder and Desi Ghee.
Company’s Chairman, Shri. Basudev Garg informed us in an exclusive interview that in the History of Indian Dairy Industry, this kind of Certification has been provided to only 2 companies till now. Company’s General Manager (Works), Shri Rakesh Sehgal has explained us that this Plant was established in the year of 1994 and its Milk Processing Capacity is 3 lacs liters per day. This Plant has been developed keeping in view the International Standards of Quality. Due to the adherence towards quality control, Company has achieved the Certification of Agmark Special for its Desi Ghee and ISI and Extra Grade (Export) Certification for its Skimmed Milk Powder. Company’s. Products have been accepted completely by the consumers of Domestic and International market. Rahul Dairy & Allied Products Limited is the former name of KMG Milk Food Limited. Company produces Dairy Whitener and Booster Ready Milk Mix in addition to Desi Ghee and Skimmed Milk Powder. |

Commerce Minister Lays Foundation Stone of Niryat Bhawan : At an impressive function at New Delhi on May 26, 03 the Commerce & Industry Minister, Mr. Arun Jaitley, laid the Foundation Stone for Niryat Bhawan, the world-class office-cum-display centre of the Federation of Indian Export Organization (FIEO). Mr. B.R. Patil, Union Minister of State for Textiles, Mr. Dipak Chatterjee, commerce Secretary and other senior officials. Besides this, Leading Industrialist, exporters and member of Managing Committee of FIEO such as Mr. Rafeeque Ahmed, Mr. Basudev Garg, and Mr. Subhash Mittal etc., were also present there. |

| The Budget was certainly a pacify-all budget with the Finance Minister giving lollipops for al to suck especially for the India Inc. The dividends distribution tax was increased to 12.5 from 10 per cent. Though the dividend tax for shareholders was removed but one should remember the distribution tax increase will also impact the shareholder dividends since the companies will deduct the tax before distributing the tax. In a way the removal of tax for shareholders was only illusionary.
The stock market responded uncertainly, while virtually every businessman interviewed on the TV shows expressed satisfaction. There was nothing in the Budget to provoke popular discontent, other than the cut in interest rates, but the announcement of a very small increase in fertilizer prices provoked the Opposition. |

Basudev Garg’s journey from a small village of Mathura to the establishment of KMG Group of Industries started with a graduation degree and a L.L.B. from Meerut University in 1976 with a mall unit and a nominal investment from his personal savings. |
